FULLERTON – A 7-year-old damsel was killed and her mother was critically injured Monday in a three-car crash in Fullerton, police said.
The crash was reported around Four:05 p.m. at the intersection of Kimberly and Acacia avenues, said Fullerton police Sgt. Jon Radus.
A preliminary investigation said that a two thousand one Hyundai Elantra was traveling west on Kimberly Avenue through the intersection with Acacia Avenue, when it was broadsided on the passenger side by a two thousand four Nissan Altima, Radus said.
The influence of the collision caused the Nissan and the Hyundai to spin and strike a two thousand thirteen Toyota Tundra, which was at a stop sign at the intersection, Radus said.
The 7-year-old damsel and her 42-year-old mother were in the back seat of the Hyundai, Radus said. The woman was in a car seat. Emergency personnel had to extract them from the vehicle.
The doll was pronounced dead at a hospital while her mother had surgery and was listed in critical condition Monday night, Radus said. The driver of the Hyundai and another passenger were treated for minor injuries.
No one in the Nissan or Toyota were hurt.
It does not show up that alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash, which remains under investigation, Radus said.
