Swedish carmaker, Volvo, has today launched the Volvo V40 and the V40 Cross Country in the Indian market with prices kicking off at INR 27.Two lakh (Ex-showroom, Delhi). The company has also opened a state-of-the-art 3S facility in Kochi. The V40 comes with the distinctive Thor s Hammer headlights. This distinctive headlights assembly is a Volvo design trait that can be found in the Volvo XC90 luxury SUV and the Volvo S90 sedan. Volvo V40 Design – The Volvo V40 and the V40 Cross Country now come tooled with Full-LED Thor s Hammer headlamp cluster, fresh waterfall design grille with the large Ironmark that is found on the XC90 & S90. The interiors on the V40 and the V40 Cross Country come with three different leather trims for the Volvo V40, while the Volvo V40 Cross Country comes with five leather trim levels including dual-tone trim. Both the cars also get fresh design for the alloy wheels to further accentuate the overall design of the car.
Volvo V40 Safety – The Volvo V40 has scored five starlet safety ratings in European NCAP. Safety features on both the cars include World-First Pedestrian Airbag, 2-stage front airbags with drivers knee bag, Safety Cell, Dynamic Stability & Traction Control, Pretensioners for front seats, Emergency, Brake Assist with Six pack, Whiplash Protection and Side Influence Protection among others. Volvo V40 Engine Specifications – The Volvo V40 and the V40 Cross Country are powered by a sub 2-Litre powerful and efficient diesel engine that comes mated to a 6-Speed automatic gearbox. This engine produces one hundred fifty BHP of maximum power and three hundred twenty Nm of peak torque. Both the cars come tooled with DPF as standard that reduces particle emission (PM2.Five & PM10) by atleast 95%.
