Karen E. I find the work done on my car, that was extensive was repaired decently and I never had to comeback for any repairs. Ed is fair and straight forward. If there is nothing wrong he will tell you. I won’t go to anyone else for my repairs. They are very trustworthy. The receptionist was all about business and I like that. Will send anyone needing help to A & E Automotive Repairs, Newport News, VA.
Very first time with A & E They were recommended to me for inspection. Possessor was VERY accommodating – which is always a good sign – and as I was leaving, someone else was arriving that had been referred. You know, you feel like ur always rolling the dice with a fresh or unacquainted auto shop for fear of dishonesty. but NOT here 🙂 Quick n & out, very accommodating and I so appreciated it. Didn’t pick my car apart for unnecessary fixes either 🙂 Finding an fair mechanic is like tryna find a needle in a haystack & I was affected with this place. so I will certainly comeback.
worst customer service in town, not reliable. Don’t waste your time if you value it. They asked me to comeback at different days and time very time I stopped by to ultimately tell me after the 5th stop that they were booked for the next two weeks. No thank you, but I will never come back
outstanding when he can help, but was turned down twice to get my truck investigated. my truck broke down on a busy intersection on my way there to find out that it wouldn’t get examined today, it would have to wait till saturday. i told him yesterday my check engine light was on, no big deal . i have never had a problem in the past, just don’t know what’s going on. i came home after someone else helped me and it’s getting studied by someone else too. mr thornton said he found the parks for my emergency violates when you said you couldn’t . he isn’t exploring the truck, but i think i will embark going there instead
Outstanding customer service, very good job. Worked issue on my van until it was immobile including ""tweaks"" after a repair without charging a dime. Fair, straight forward, competent. Wish I’d known about Ed and his mechanics four years ago when we very first got here.
My practice with Ed at A&E Automotive too many times to count has been awesome!! He will arch over rearwards to help you out and he always has the best attitude with a smile in-tow. He and his ace mechanic have excellent customer service and fair prices. He has motionless problems, that dealerships or other garages have soaked the customer for a lot of cash and never motionless the problem, at a cheaper price. I will bring any car to him before I would let another shop take a look at it and I wouldn’t care how much the tow bill was.
I used A&E when I had a problem and when I needed a State Inspection and had good practices both times. When my friend felt that she was being jerked around by a repair company in WMBG I suggested that she call Ed at A&E. He not only explained that her issue was normal wear and not a reason to fail an Inspection, but he did the repair for less than half the cost the other man quoted her. He looks every job up in the SAE Mechanics Guide and charges what the book says. If he finds anything wrong on the way, he’ll call you and explain or have you come down to showcase you. I talked with Ed a little while paperwork was being done and found that Ed is retired after twenty plus years as a Black Hawk helicopter mechanic. You must have to be a good and trusted mechanic to work on those birds, when they break people die! Ed has proved again and again that he is a trustworthy and fair mechanic and bussinessman. He bought the building his shop is in and is expanding to twice the bays! I asked if he was looking for help and his reply was,""Only if they are SAE Certified Mechanics, only qualified and up to date mechanics work here.""
I recently bought a car from a friend and realized there was a major problem with the vehicle. I orginally took it to Wal-mart and they could not fix it because the work was too extensive. They referred me to ""Ed"" with A&E Automotive in Newport News. They said that he was very reasonable, reliable and would set me straight. Let’s just say, I will no longer go anywhere else if I need work on ANY of my vehicles. Ed and his team proved their execellent reputation and not only immovable my car within hours, but did the work at a very reasonable price. Ed also gave me some tips on future problems I should look out for and when I should substitute certain parts with the particular make and model I had. I trust him and his team and recommend A&E very for rapid, reliable and affordable service.
I cannot say enough good things about this company. They are truthful, friendly, courteous, reliable, inexpensive and timely. Unlike a dealership, I never have ""extra"" problems after being serviced there. I would recommend them to anyone and everyone.
