Now has relationships with nineteen of the top global car brands
AT&T* is working to meet the needs of a growing number of tech savvy car owners looking for the latest in connected car technology. According to a latest investigate by AT&T and Ericsson, three out of four consumers consider connected car services an significant feature in their next car purchase.
We are expanding our connected car products and services in line with this strong customer request. Beginning this week, AT&T Unlimited Plan customers may add select connected cars or a ZTE Mobley vehicle Wi-Fi plug-in device to the plan for $40 each month for unlimited data[1]. Unlimited Plan customers also can get 1GB of data per month for $Ten per connected car or ZTE Mobley[Two]. For more information, call 800-331-0500 or click here. Our connected car customers proceed to have the option of a stand-alone data plan or adding their car to their Mobile Share Value Plan.
We also kicked off a fresh connected car national digital advertising campaign, called “A Entire Fresh Rail.” This is our very first advertising campaign focused on the benefits of wireless connectivity in the car. The campaign shows the value of turning your car into a Wi-Fi hotspot, told from a kid’s point of view. It will run on social media through July Five. “It’s incredible to think back to ten years ago when we very first commenced talking with automakers about connecting their cars. Swift forward to today. More and more cars are rolling off the line with embedded connectivity solutions,” said Chris Penrose, senior vice president, Internet of Things (IoT) Solutions, AT&T. “The interest we are observing from carmakers and consumers around the world says this revolution is here to stay.”
As of 1Q2016, we have more than eight million cars on our network and connect more than 50% of all fresh connected passenger vehicles in the U.S.
Highlights of our other connected car initiatives from the past year:
- Announced that we are suggesting wireless connectivity on the AT&T 4G LTE network in certain Porsche two thousand seventeen Macan, Boxster and nine hundred eleven models[Trio].
- Signed a fresh multi-year agreement with Jaguar Land Rover, North America, LLC, to bring high-speed Internet to Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles in North America.
- Commenced connecting two extra car brands: Infiniti and VW (certain models sold outside the U.S.). We now have relationships with nineteen of the top global car brands.
- Launched two fresh vehicle plug-in devices for most cars one thousand nine hundred ninety six and newer – the ZTE Mobley and Car Connection Two.0. Also, Samsung has announced a fresh plug-in, Samsung Connect Auto, with AT&T as the very first provider in the U.S.
AT&T Connected Car Leadership
We launched two major initiatives to lead innovation in the connected car market. The very first is a pioneering connected car innovation center in Atlanta, called the AT&T Drive Studio. We also suggest a global platform, AT&T Drive, which is modular and lithe to permit carmakers to build unique solutions for its customers. AT&T was the very first major wireless carrier to launch a global SIM platform for cars. This platform lets automotive, individuals and Internet of Things equipment makers use a single carrier to wirelessly connect products across the globe. We have been committed to improving road safety through our It Can Wait campaign and as a founding member of the Together for Safer Roads coalition.
