It also provides an expandable means of installing as many apps as your SD card can hold. For apps supporting SD card execution, you can select the "Save to SD Card" option from within the phone’s main "Settings" menu.

1. Install a microSD card into the slot on the left side of the phone. Your phone should have come preinstalled with a memory card, but you can expand the storage up to 32GB.

Two. Press the "Menu" button on the front of the phone and select "Settings," then "SD Card & Phone Storage."

Trio. Ensure the SD card is recognized and that there is space available. A decently installed SD card will reflect the amount of total and available space on the card and give you an "Unmount SD Card" option for safe removal. Four. Press the "Back" button to go to the previous menu. Select "Applications," then tap "Manage Applications."

Five. Permit the device to compile a list of your applications. Press the "Menu" button to sort alphabetically or by size.

Warnings

  • Apps that are available during the boot process — live wallpaper apps, for example — should not be moved to the SD card.
  • Support for the application to launch and operate from the SD card must be built in by the application developer, so you might encounter a few apps — especially the ones preloaded on your LG Optimus — that are not transferrable.
  • When your phone — and therefore the SD card — is mounted to a computer, all applications on the SD card will become unavailable.
  • When moved to the SD card, apps that control widgets might be laggy or fail to run at all.
