Driver arrested, passenger injured in SR eighteen crash near Tiger Mountain
A 21-year-old Climb on Vernon man was arrested and a passenger injured in a rollover crash on state Route eighteen just east of the Tiger Mountain Summit shortly after three a.m. Friday.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the man was driving a one thousand nine hundred ninety five Ford Mustang eastbound when he lost control and left the roadway. The car flipped on its top and came to rest in a ditch.
The passenger, a 35-year-old Portland man, was transported to Overlake Hospital in Bellevue with injuries. Both occupants were wearing seat belts. The Mustang was bruised beyond repair in the accident.

Westbound SR eighteen reopened to traffic
The two westbound lanes of State Route eighteen are back open this morning.
The lanes had been closed since late Thursday because of a large landslide.
DOT crews have cleared the debris. The lanes were reopened just before Trio:30 a.m.

Crews to inspect landslide that blocks westbound SR eighteen in Auburn
Engineers will spend the morning examining the large landslide that is blocking all westbound lanes of State Route eighteen in Auburn. Crews say the westbound lanes will be closed through today and will not reopen until Saturday at the earliest.
Geotechnical experts will look at the stability of the slope during their assessment this morning, the state Department of Transportation reported today. The assessment will help determine when crews can commence removing the debris that is blocking the highly-traveled roadway.
“Crews need adequate daylight to securely and accurately inspect the entire slope,” a DOT press release states.

UPDATED: Petite mudslide closes lane of SR eighteen in Auburn
A puny, early-morning mudslide is blocking the right shoulder and right lane of westbound State Route eighteen at the West Valley Highway in Auburn, the state DOT reports.
Crews are blocking the right lane as a precaution. Crews proceed to assess the stability of the hillside, DOT reported this afternoon.
The right lane will remain closed during the afternoon commute.
The slide occurred just after Three:45 a.m. and buried a 4-foot debris fence mounted on a jersey barrier near the shoulder.

ALL CLEAR: Lanes of SR eighteen in Auburn blocked by crash
A multiple-vehicle crash is blocking traffic along State Route eighteen in Auburn this morning, the state DOT reports.
The two left lanes of westbound SR eighteen are blocked. The crash also is partially blocking the left lane of eastbound SR Eighteen, DOT reports.
Drivers are backed up more than two miles to C Street Southwest.
UPDATE: Another crash is now blocking the right lane of eastbound SR Legal, the state DOT reported just after 9:Ten a.m.

Closures tonight on SR eighteen in Federal Way
Drivers who use State Route eighteen in Federal Way at night should be ready for possible delays this week.
DOT crews will close lanes and a ramp on westbound SR eighteen tonight and Tuesday night. While the lanes are closed, crews will set up concrete barriers. Utility crews will then relocate part of the Olympic Pipeline, the DOT reports.

Motorist injured after Highway eighteen crash in Auburn
A motorcyclist was critically injured after he collided with a disabled car parked on the shoulder of Highway eighteen in Auburn Sunday evening.
Around Five:30 p.m., firefighters from the Valley Regional Fire Authority and King County paramedics responded to the accident on Eastbound Highway Eighteen, just west of the SE three hundred four th Street exit. The patient, who was wearing a helmet, was transported to Harborview Medical Center, a Valley Regional Fire Authority spokesman said.
The occupant of the disabled vehicle, a crimson two-door hatchback, was sitting in her car at the time of the collision and was not injured.

UPDATED: Head-on crash on SR eighteen earnestly injures Auburn man
An Auburn man was earnestly injured early today when a wrong-way driver hit the man’s car in the westbound lanes of State Route eighteen near Auburn.
Firefighters liberated the man from his crumbled Subaru Legacy. The 42-year-old man was then airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for treatment, the Valley Regional Fire Authority reported.
The crash occurred just before Trio:20 a.m. on State Route eighteen at the Peasley Canyon Road overpass, state agencies reported.
Witnesses reported watching a pickup truck driving erratically north on Interstate five in Federal Way. One driver followed the truck as it drove onto eastbound …
