Maruti Suzuki will launch the S-Cross facelift in coming weeks. Several Nexa dealers have commenced accepting pre-bookings for the same. It comes with minor updates to its exterior and interior along with revised equipment list. Check out more info here.

Speaking about the current S-Cross, it comes with two diesel engine options, the 1.3-litre and 1.6-litre DDiS motors coupled to a 5-Speed or 6-Speed (1.6-litre) manual transmission with a certified fuel efficiency of 23.65kmpl and 22.7kmpl, respectively. Experienced Review of Maruti S-Cross

  • PROS
  • CONS
  • 1.6-litre diesel offers superb spectacle. Makes for a good highway tourer.
  • Well-equipped with features (touchscreen infotainment system, leather seats, projector headlamps etc)
  • Superb overall build quality. Feels very well made.
  • No petrol engine or automatic transmission suggested.
  • Styling is a hit or a miss. May not be to everyone’s taste.

Standout Features

All-wheel disc brakes, disc brakes and dual airbags as standard.

1.6-litre diesel that offers explosive spectacle.

Cardekho Verdict

The S-Cross is well-equipped, well-built and engaging to drive suggesting from Maruti Suzuki that lives up to most expectations one would have from a 10-12 lakh Rupee premium car. It’s a ‘built from scratch’ crossover that gets two capable engines – the 1.3-litre diesel for city-centric usage and the 1.6-litre diesel for highway sprints.

"Yes, it doesn’t have the road presence you’d get from a similarly priced compact/mid-sized SUV, but if you’re looking for a classy and understated package, the S-Cross does the job ideally"

Yes, it doesn’t have the road presence you’d get from a similarly priced compact/mid-sized SUV, but if you’re looking for a classy and understated package, the S-Cross does the job flawlessly. It’s also loaded with features and feels premium on the inwards and out. It’s not meant to be an off-roader, so the missing all-wheel drive system is acceptable, but the absence of a petrol engine or the lack of an automatic transmission will be a sore point for some. Otherwise, tho’, the S-Cross is a excellent all-rounder for the money.
