COLUMBIA COUNTY, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) — A man injured after a crash on I-20 in Columbia County has been upgraded to fair condition.

Calvin Hall was at Augusta University in critical condition after a crash at mile 188. Hall’s wifey, Victoria Reeder Hall, died after the crash.

Investigators said Calvin Hall swerved to avoid an accident and ended up overturning the vehicle in the median and over the cable barrier that separates the lanes.

COLUMBIA COUNTY, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) — The passenger who died in an accident involving a vehicle that overturned after attempting to avoid another accident has been identified.

Victoria Reeder Hall, 64, of Monroe N.C. was ejected out of the rear passenger window when Calvin Homer Hall, 71, swerved to avoid the accident and ended up overturning the vehicle in the median over the cable barrier separating the lanes.

Calvin Hall is in critical condition, according to Augusta University Medical Center.

Victoria Hall died due to her injuries and Calvin Hall was taken to the hospital, according to law enforcement. Victoria Hall was not wearing a seatbelt.

COLUMBIA COUNTY, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) — Deputies say two separate accidents on I-20 westbound led to one fatality and one injury.

Deputies say they were called out to I-20 a little after Four:30 to mile marker 188. When they got on scene they found two accidents.

The very first involving two vehicles. One struck the other as it was slowing down for traffic. One car was shoved off the south shoulder and came to a rest. The other vehicle ended up in the inwards lane. There were no injuries in this crash, according to deputies.

The sheriff’s office says the 2nd accident happened when another vehicle traveling westbound was approaching this very first accident scene.

The driver of this vehicle swerved to avoid this accident and ended up overturning in the median over the cable barrier separating the lanes. As the car was overturning the passenger, who wasn’t wearing a seatbelt, was ejected out of the rear passenger window. This car ended up on the shoulder of I-20 eastbound, investigators say.

The passenger of this third vehicle died due to her injuries and the driver was taken to the hospital, according to law enforcement.

COLUMBIA COUNTY, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) –Deputy Coroner Bonnie King Holloway says the victim is an older female from North Carolina.

Her hubby was the only other victim. He’s at Augusta University Medical Center with numerous injuries in the shock trauma unit.

The coroner’s office isn’t releasing the name yet because they are still attempting to contact family members.

COLUMBIA COUNTY, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) — The coroner has been called to a crash on I-20 eastbound just past the Columbia County weigh station.

The crash happened a little after Four:30 p.m. at mile one hundred eighty eight near the Lewiston Road exit.

Traffic is moving slow on both sides of the interstate at this time.

COLUMBIA COUNTY, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) — A 3-car crash is slowing down traffic at mile one hundred eighty eight on I-20 eastbound in Columbia County.

The crash happened at Four:32 p.m. Wednesday.

According to GDOT’s website, the left lane of I-20 east at State Route 388/Lewiston Road.
