Man killed in Egg Harbor Township car accident

A pedestrian was struck and killed by a car Wednesday in Egg Harbor Township, police said.

Marquee Hartsfield, 22, was traveling west on Black Pony Pike near the Trocki Community Jewish Day School when he hit the unidentified man with his two thousand twelve Chevy Sonic after a near miss with another vehicle, according to a news release from the Egg Harbor Township Police Department.

The victim was described as a skinny white masculine in his 40s or 50s. He was treated at the scene by the Egg Harbor Township Ambulance Squad and AtlantiCare paramedics. He was transported to AtlanitCare Regional Medical Center City Campus where he was pronounced dead.

The crash is being investigated by Officers Patrick Daly, Louis Poletis and Thomas Rocco of the Egg Harbor Township Police Department traffic Safety Unit.
